Rethink Impact

Reimagine what it means to be part of the Emory community. With Emory Impact Circles, you’re able to connect with alumni, parents, faculty, and staff who all share common goals. Together you’ll invest in causes that matter to you.

How it works

Emory Impact Circles raise money for their respective Impact Funds. Through a donor-guided grant-making process, funds support philanthropic priorities across the university that advance the causes important to each Emory Impact Circle.

Projects that have been funded by Emory Impact Circles:

In the Museum Conservation Lab introduces art conservation to teenage girls, especially those in underserved communities throughout metropolitan Atlanta. Throughout six workshops, teens will explore the field of art conservation and the role of conservators in museums.

The Nia Project provides crisis management, weekly therapy groups, individual and family therapy, and community-based programs to Black women who have experienced interpersonal trauma and attempted suicide. Since women who participate in the Nia Project have limited resources and may live in abusive situations, they rarely have the funds or freedom to interact with other women in a safe, enjoyable environment. This grant helps fund a two-day Purpose and Community Engagement Program for Nia Project members to attend workshops, participate in group discussion, and build community.

The James Weldon Johnson Institute (JWJI) offers competitive fellowships for students in Emory College who are completing honors theses on topics related to race and difference. The four winning applicants receive research support stipends to complete their theses and have access to a shared workspace at the JWJI office on N. Decatur Road.

Black Girl Processing Space hosts monthly events that help self-identified Black women navigate their college experience and build community on the Oxford College campus. Faculty and staff mentors provide guidance and make sure students know about all the resources available to them—both at Oxford and throughout metropolitan Atlanta.
